The contemporary country chic
There are some home styles that circle in and out of fashion and there are firm classics that are always here to stay. The dressed down elegance and fun of country chic is one of those versatile styles that just keeps giving! With soft, mixed materials, muted colours and rich, warm Woods, this look is perfectly bright for summer and cosy for the winter. By pairing these up with striking shapes and beautiful metals, the Calligaris 2015 range has perfected a contemporary angle on this classic style.
This year Calligaris introduce Oak tables with rustic, irregular edges and angled ends. This Oak finish is exquisitely paired with an angled, sleek bench base on the Status table and a stunning geometric, triangular column base on the Cartesio. The colours of these bases are either in a modest, yet strong Matt Grey or Corten steel for an industrial meets country style. Calligaris Barstools also have received a contemporary country makeover, with wooden bases being added to the Sami and the Jam. This matching of contemporary shapes and bright colours, paired with the warmth of wood and just a dash of chrome creates an amazing result.
Calligaris have extended their colour ranges and introduce new colours for polypropylene and new ranges to their fabrics. Soft, pastel shades of Sky Blue, Nougat and Mustard take polypropylene chairs back from the ultra modern and gives them a country twist. New fabrics include the sumptuous Tweed range, in a deep Brown Coffee or an Anthracite Grey and the new Oxford range has a gorgeous herringbone design, available in neutral colours and also Blue or Burgundy. Lastly for new colours, the Calligaris objects collection sees many new additions, including pastels and copper to their ceramics and warm rust brown and brick red to their felt ranges.
The Code range has also been included in this new traditional meets contemporary style. Copper tones have been introduced as a warmer alternative to bright chrome in the Code Pompom lighting range. Now also available in a single bulb style, this looks rustically elegant whilst keeping it modern. The Code Damasco is an ornamental screen printed mirror with intricate design, yet the lack of frame and sleek shape keeps an air of the contemporary about it.
