Mid Century Contemporary

Mid Century style is still very much on trend in 2015, with bold prints and geometric shapes. The stunning abstract patterning, eye catching angles and striking silhouettes of the 50's and 60's are a contemporary classic. Wallpaper is a great way to introduce these these iconic patterns into your home. We have been searching for wallpaper that completes a Mid Century contemporary look and who else but Cole and Son have the perfect range for us. Their 'New Contemporary' and 'New Contemporary 2' ranges are a treasure chest of amazing  designs from the era. One of our favourites is the Fusion, with it's bold patterning this is a wonderful statement wallpaper. Also for a bold pattern is the beautiful Palm Leaves, available in a wide range of colours (my personal favourite has to be black and gold!). For a more simple and elegant look, the Luna pattern is a good choice, also available in a more delicate White on off-white or stone and gold. Pompeian is a splendid geometric, trellis pattern which comes in bold or softer colours and will also compliment other geometric designs in the room well.

Geometric design can be a key to obtaining the look and the Cattelan Italia Arabesque sideboard incorporates a striking geometric design on a simple squared body. This sideboard is raised a little higher off the floor for a more retro feel. The newly released Cattelan Italia Rubik rug as a fabulous geometric design and in Brown tones this highly patterned rug does not dominate the room.
