Industrial Interiors

9 June 2016

Silver and Gold are steadily giving rise to Bronze. Despite the industrial connotations metals conjure, in contrast to more glitzy metallic counterparts bronze and copper hues can inject a durable yet distinctively warm element into interiors when used accordingly.

The recent Contardi Lighting collection heavily featured metallic tones and Cattelan Italia have eagerly followed suit in their Milan 2016 collection. Introducing the option of a sleek satin bronze finish to established pieces including the Spyder Table, Cattelan have also generated fresh lighting designs largely inspired by the versatility and conduit structure of such metals.

Left to Right: Cattelan Italia Stilo Ceiling Light, Thor Floor Lamp and Zoom Ceiling Light.

Accessories such as the elegant wire inspired Thor floor lamp and the cylindrical Zoom and Stilo ceiling lights provide the perfect opportunity to subtly introduce edgy bronze in an understated manner, embracing the geometric qualities associated with these shapes can add a retro splash to any contemporary space.

Going bold with Bronze? Consider merging such tones with the strong materials and industrial colour schemes prevalent in current trends. We love the Bonaldo Big Table as in the image above, the concrete grey setting juxtaposed with a light timber top and the deep copper hues of the Corten Steel Base constructs a complimentary palette that exudes an air of warmth whilst maintaining a well defined industrial feel.
